For renters
Applying for a rental, made clear
We make renting fair and transparent. Here's exactly how applying works and what we look for, so there are no surprises.
The process
Four steps to your next home
Find a listing
Browse our listings in your city. Each one shows the rent, the unit, and how to apply.
Apply online
Submit your application with the documents requested. The same information is asked of every applicant.
Screening
We verify income, credit, identity, rental history, and references, applied evenly and consistently.
Decision & lease
Qualified applicants are presented to the owner, who makes the final decision. Approved applicants sign and move in.
What we look for
The same standard for every applicant
We evaluate objective, tenancy-relevant factors, applied consistently to everyone. Consistency is what makes the process fair.
Verified income
Income that comfortably supports the rent, confirmed directly.
Credit
Reviewed in context, not as a single pass/fail number.
Rental history
A track record of meeting lease obligations.
References
Prior landlords who can speak to your tenancy.

Any application fee is set by the property and disclosed before you apply. We never charge renters for the placement service itself.
Screening criteria are set before a unit is advertised and applied evenly to every applicant, consistent with Fair Housing and FCRA. See our Fair Housing Commitment.
Once your application and documents are complete, screening is typically fast. The faster you provide verifiable documents, the faster we can move.
The property owner makes the final decision from the qualified applicants we present.
